This standard gives requirements and recommendations for the mechanical design, materials selection, fabrication, inspection, testing, and preparation for shipment of welded plate-block heat exchangers for use in petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. It is applicable to heat exchangers with welded plate packs and bolted cover plates.
