The assessment criteria are based on the exposure tests in ISO 6509‑1. The materials can be in the form of a semi-finished product or in the form of a final product (fittings, valves, etc.). ISO 6509-2:2017 is not applicable to complex products like flow-meters or pump-parts. In addition, other properties of the material might need to be taken into account for the intended application. This document is not intended to validate dezincification in case of failure in the application.
